Description:

Christmas themed postcard showing s a young girl, as an angel, holding a ladder into heaven. Angels look down and the greeting reads: “A HAPPY CHRISTMAS. Up to the heavens sweet echoes go, Tidings of joy from the earth below.”. The front also has the printers emblem (“EAS” within a heart) and the card number, “2”.

On the back there is a good to fine condition King George V halfpenny from die B. It is stamped with a mostly complete Blandford circular date stamp (CDS). The printed text along the side reads: “Published by E. A. Schwerdtfeger & Co. London E. C., printed at their works in Berlin.” The card is numbered “1756” and is a EAS “Post Card”.

It is addresssed to “Miss Ideele[?], 6 Railway Cottages, Pondon, Nr. Salisbury”. The message reads “Just to wish you a Merry Xmas with lots of Love & kisses from Edith Head”
