Bill, possibly for a car related service. Cut-out square has been stuck onto the backing paper. The backing paper simply reads:
“By Morris-Cowley Car … £319 17s 1d (£40 0s 0d)”
“By cheque on deposit. £279 17s 1d (£10 0s 0d)”
Total “£269 17s 1d”

The cut out (Number 2954) reads: “14 Aug 1929. RECEIVED of R. F. Prichard, Esp. Two Hundred + sixty-nine pds 17/1 Cheque. p.p. SWAIN & JONES £269-17-1. aaa. With Thanks.” It is authenticated with a twopenny stamps with the date, “14/8/29” written thereon.

it is worth noting that the paper itself, along the top edge, is watermarked “LONDON”.
