Description:

“E. S. No 166 Copyright London W.C.” postcard which shows the message “GREETINGS FROM MARGATE” on the front with a ornate baby design! The stamp is an excellent condition King Edward VII halfpenny with a semi-decent, although incomplete, postmark from Margate.

It is handstamped as having been used on the 23rd of August, 1908 or perhaps 1906. It is addressed to one “Miss. A. Wallen, 44 Percy Rd. Woot Killburn, London, W.W”. The message reads “Dear Amy, I am enjoying myself like you was, when you was at the sea-side. I have not been paddling, but rosie is going to Otall Dron to home. From auntie Ada.” Since it is witten in pencil some has rubbed off over time. A previous owner has written a price at the top as the handwrititng does not match. This reads “Kent. £1”.
