Cat. Value (Adjusted Cat. value adjusted for condition:
Poor condition plate 118, position SG, Penny Red with significant fading and superficial damage. Minor offset but washed out detail. Plate number is readable. Discoloured and faulted perforations. Poor texture as it doesn’t lay flat. Reverse reveals significant creasing and blemishing. Watermark just visible, and the plate number has been written on by a previous owner.± The postmark is extremely faint and can just be mad out to be a barred cancel of the oval variety, which would indicate an England and Wales office. The office number itself is unknown.
Oval barred numeral cancel: unknown
