Cat. Value (Adjusted Cat. value adjusted for condition:
Physically good plate 101, position EI, Penny Red. Two large margins due to northeasterly offset but all detail - such as the plate numbers and corner letters - are intact and readable. The majority of the perforations are decent with minimal faults. The gum is clean and the watermark both easily visible and mostly central. The plate number has been helpfully written on the back by a previous owner. The postmark is a patchy but easily visible two-part oval numeral cancel which would have originated from London. The top “S.W” indicates it was used in the South West district, while the 35 refers to the office number.
Two-part oval barred numeral cancel: S.W / 35
Large Crown (Standard)
