Offset Penny Red from plate 86, position RE, printed on thick paper. Nice example with clear detail, including an obvious plate number. Some faults, including a curled bottom right corner - perforations are otherwise fair with some damage. The gum is clean with a faint but visible postmark. The plate number has also been written on the reverse by a previous owner. The postmark is an oblong barred numeral cancel with the office number, “2”, contained within a solid diamond. This shape indicates a London Inland office.
Oval barred numeral cancel: <2>
Large Crown (Standard)
