Poor example of a plate 93, position RA, Penny Red with significant faults. This includes a severe bottom left offset, trimmed and broken perforations, and blackened gum. The watermark is clear, unlike the plate number which is slightly difficult to make out. The postmark is semi-legible, but it’s clear it is of the square barred variety which indicates its use within Scotland. The office number, however, is likely incomplete. However, if it is a single 8 then G. Brumell would suggest it has come from Aberlour, Banffshire.
