Cat. Value (Adjusted Cat. value adjusted for condition:
Clean example of a plate 118, position NG Penny Red with three margins and a faint postmark. This specimen has a few perforation faults, but is otherwise good when it comes to the colour and detail of the face, plate number and corner letters. The reverse is clean with a very obvious, semi-centred, postmark. A previous owner has written the plate number at the bottom. The postmark is faint and incomplete. It consists of a circle on the left hand side, and a oval barred numeral cancel on the right. The shape (oval) indicates an England and Wales post office, but the missing two digits that should postfix the 8 we can see narrows it down to 100 possible locations.
Oval barred numeral cancel duplex: 8—; unknown
Large Crown (Standard)
ID#: 2190 (Used)
