Description:

Slogan has an illustration of the artist, plus his signature. The stamp itself is perfinned with a double impression (the second set of presumably the same perfin is seen at the bottom of the stamp) OF JM/&Co with a type Ia ampersand.

Via the Postmark Society Catalogue of Slogan Postmarks of the UK vol. 3, this is given the number (General Slogan; GS) 3529. It was officially used from the 3rd to the 22nd of October, 1983, so this example is a slighly late example (but not the latest by far which occured in 1984).

Postmark:

Circular Date Stamp (CDS): LONDON E.C. / 615PM 10 NOV 1983 / S1 ++ Slogan: ALBERT: HIS LIFE AND WORK / An Exhibition at the Royal College of Art 11th October 1983 - 22nd January 1984.
