Description:

Appears to be four sets of horizontal pairs of Type I, series X, 10p Machin with two phosphor bands on each side. These I believe only appeared in this format, with a bottom selvage, on panes SG GB X849la. The 8.5p Machin that accompanies it can only be SG GB X881 (Issued. 25-09-1975) owing to it’s two phosphor bands and could have originated from a number of sources.

These particular stamps have been used as make up values for modern postage (with the postmark(s)) dated 13 NOV 2020 form the SOUTHAMPTON mail centre. The postmarks themselves are not particularly well pressed. Thankfully the stamps themselves are fairly attractive, although on horizontal pair has been split. Interesting nonetheless
